Hi, I’m Yu-Rou Tuan. I’m a Master of Science student in Computer Vision at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science, graduating in December 2026. I currently do research at the Cognitive Assistance Lab with Prof. Kris Kitani.

My research sits at the intersection of generative models and physics-grounded 3D/4D scene understanding: how do we synthesize and reconstruct worlds that are not just photorealistic but physically consistent — stable under contact, coherent over time — so that robots and autonomous vehicles can be trusted in the rare, dangerous situations that matter most?

I am currently looking for new-grad full-time Research, MLE, and SWE roles starting in 2027. If you think we might be a fit, please get in touch.

Outside of research, I enjoy cooking and playing table tennis.
